National rates on 30-year mortgages fell for the first time since early December as lower-than-expected job growth eased worries in financial markets about inflation. Mortgage giant Freddie Mac reported Thursday that 30-year, fixed-rate mortgages averaged 6.28 percent last week, down from 6.34 percent the previous week. Below are average mortgage rates in Denver, Adams and Arapahoe counties as of Thursday and the previous 52 weeks. The one-year Treasury bill average reported by the Federal Reserve Bank is 5.06 percent. The Cost of Funds Index for December from the Federal Home Loan Bank (11th District) was 4.396 percent.
