The Denver Newspaper Agency said Tuesday it has appointed Bill Reynolds as senior vice president for circulation.

Reynolds, 47, will replace Judd Alvord, 51, who is leaving a 29-year career in newspaper circulation to work as an industry consultant.

The DNA, through a joint operating agreement, oversees circulation, advertising and other business operations for The Denver Post and the Rocky Mountain News. The newsrooms remain separate and competitive.

Reynolds, former circulation director for the News, has worked as Alvord’s deputy, holding the title of circulation vice president.

“Until recently, Reynolds also served as general manager of YourHub.com, a collection of neighborhood websites and zoned print sections published by the News and distributed through both newspapers,” a press release said.

Reynolds, a Long Island native, held management positions with the New York Daily News and Long Island Newsday before coming to Denver in 1994.
