Height: 6-feet-1.
Weight: 230 pounds.
Age: 18. Born June 4, 1988, in Montrose.
High school sports: Wrestling (Class 2A two-time state champion and runner-up entering the weekend, 145-4 career mark); football (linebacker); track and field (2A champion in discus, runner-up in shot put)
Grade-point average: 4.14.
Class: Senior.
My favorite subject: Trigonometry, because no matter how tough the problems are, you can always work your way to a right answer and go back and check it.
My favorite athlete: Rulon Gardner. He was a great heavyweight wrestler and Olympic champion.
My favorite team: Oakland Raiders, because when I was little my grandma would cheer for the Broncos and the Raiders would win, so I’d go to her house and get into big arguments. It turned into a competition.
What I listen to: Lots of classic rock, mostly oldies.
The best thing on my training table: My mom’s tuna casserole.
Pregame ritual: In wrestling, I always start to get ready for my match three weight classes before, and I systematically warm myself up.
Time management tip: The main thing is to put priorities in order. At this time in life, your main focus should be on getting grades.
Planned career: Sports broadcasting; will wrestle at Nebraska.
My family: Parents Larry and Gwen, brother Stryker, sister Mollie.
What I like most about high school sports: Just the passion for the community, because you’ve grown up with people on the team, you know them and get a chance to compete with them. Really, it’s a family deal.
