SAY CHEESE, KIDS

February is National Children’s Dental Health Month and a good time to teach kids the importance of brushing and flossing daily. Among the products that might make kids spend a little longer cleaning their teeth is DenTek Oral Care’s Fun Flossers, which come in bright colors and fun shpaes. A pack of 48 flossers is $1.99 at Target and other major retailers.

STAIRWAY TO HEAVEN

You better have spent some time on the StairMaster lately if you plan to Run the Register, the second annual climb of the Wells Fargo Center at East 17th Avenue and Sherman Street in downtown Denver on Sunday. Better known as the Cash Register, the building has 47 floors for a total of 1,014 steps, and serious runners love this contest. The elite climb is at 8 a.m., with teams and individuals running the stairs from 8:15 to 2 p.m. It’s a benefit for the American Lung Association of Colorado and is sponsored by Anthem. The sign-up fee is $35, and a suggested minimum pledge is $47, or $1 per floor. Register by Friday at 5 p.m. Details at runtheregister.com | MORE HEALTH AND FITNESS CALENDAR LISTINGS AT DENVERPOST.COM

STAR WORKOUTS

Want to have arms like Hilary Swank or lean, sexy legs a la Molly Simms? It’s award season after all, and you want to look as good on your own red carpet as the celebrities do on theirs. Celebrity trainers share their tips on getting fit in “The A-List Workout,” by Alyssa Shaffer of Fitness magazine (McGraw-Hill, $22.95). Each chapter can be used to create a 12-week workout, or readers can zero in on a certain body part.
