We have a home in Steamboat (Springs) so we travel through Kremmling quite often. Big Shooter is our favorite place to stop on the three-hour drive. The best part, aside from the hot chai and fantastic ice cream, are the swings on the front porch. Winter or summer it’s a family-friendly place to stop and stretch your legs or do a little front porch swinging!
Like skier, like maker: Monika Cary, Kremmling
The skier is atop Big Shooter. I believe it was made by the owner Shawn Scholl. He and his wife, Stephenie, have decorated the shop in a colorful splendor. Outside, there is also a giant ice cream cone and the backside of a cow sticking out of a cup of coffee. It’s a spacious, comfortable shop with games and quiet corners to read or contemplate when in Kremmling. Shawn has a unique sense of humor and the skier looks very much like him.
