The Colorado chapter of the National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame held its annual banquet Monday night at the Denver West Marriott and awarded 11 $1,000 scholarships to seniors from the 2006 schoolboy season.
Scott Cure, Idalia; Clay Garcia, Alamosa; Keiffer Garton, Douglas County; C.J. Gillman, Columbine; Karl Heimbrock, Cherry Creek; Brian Hendricks, Burlington; D.J. Horton, Hotchkiss; Travis Sandersfeld, Limon; Matt Stiasny, Dove Creek; Ty Tschacher, Platte Valley; and Nathan Walker, Colorado Springs Christian, were cited for outstanding performances in the classroom, on the football field and within their communities.
The 27th annual Nike coach of the year football clinic will be March 2-4 at the Radisson Hotel Southeast, Interstate 225 and Parker Road, Aurora.
