Parker police are investigating a suspicious shooting in which a 17-year-old boy was wounded this morning at the intersection of Parker Road and Lincoln Avenue.

Police spokeswoman Sara Walla said police were called from the Sky Ridge Medical Center, where the young man went on his own for treatment.

He told police he was assaulted and robbed of his wallet, then shot.

Walla said the victim had one gunshot wound that was not life-threatening. She said there were no witnesses to the shooting, even though the victim’s girlfriend was across the street when it happened around 10 a.m.

Walla said police could not find any evidence of the shooting, such as a shell casing, at the scene. Police have confiscated the teen’s car.

She said she didn’t know where the boy or his girlfriend lived.
