DENVER-
J.D. Corbin scored in overtime as seventh-ranked Denver beat No. 8 North Dakota 4-3 Friday night.
Winless in its last three games, Denver (21-11-3, 13-9-3 Western Conference Hockey Association) snapped the streak with goals from Ryan Dingle, Tyler Ruegsegger and Geoff Paukovich. Glenn Fisher had 20 saves as Denver ended the Fighting Sioux’s 11-game unbeaten streak.
North Dakota (17-12-4, 11-10-4) got goals form Ryan Duncan, Jonathan Toews and T.J. Oshie, who also combined for six assists.
The Sioux had taken the lead off of Toews’ goal at the 16:14 mark of the second period. But Paukovich tied the game with a goal off a feed from Tom May 2:18 into the third.
Denver went 0-and-5 on the power play but outshot North Dakota 42-23 for the game. North Dakota was 1-and-3 with the man advantage.
