MANKATO, MINN.-
Mick Berge’s tip-in goal with 2:39 left in the third period gave Minnesota State, Mankato a 3-2 upset victory over Colorado College on Friday.
Berge, a sophomore forward, deflected a Steve Wagner pass in behind Tigers goalie Matt Zaba, who was otherwise outstanding with 28 saves.
Mankato’s Jon Kalinski scored his team-leading 17th goal of the season and Zach Harrison also scored for the Mavericks (12-17-6, 9-13-5 WCHA).
Mike Zacharias made 24 saves for his 10th victory. Chad Rau and Andreas Vlassopoulos scored for the Tigers (16-14-3, 12-11-2), who are winless in their last five games. Jimmy Kilpatrick assisted on both CC goals.
