Talk about aging well.

The Colorado RV, Sports, Boat & Travel Show turns 50 when it begins its run Thursday through Sunday, March 4, at Denver’s National Western Complex. Never has Colorado’s most venerable outdoor sports expo looked better.

The event covers the spectrum of outdoor activities, from action sports such as hunting, fishing and river running to simply relaxing.

All come into focus through the narration and instruction of various experts who will deliver seminars and visual presentations.

Typical is the experience of Golden fly shop owner John Harcourt, who spiced his RV travels in Alaska with angling adventures that produced catches of giant salmon.

Popular programs include angling expert Phillip Hain, who will demonstrate fish-catching techniques at a 40-foot glass aquarium.

Among the hands-on attractions are a kids trout pond and a Colorado Division of Wildlife automatic laser target system. Show hours are noon-9 p.m. Thursday and Friday, 9 a.m.-8 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Sunday. Adult admission is $8. Children younger than 12 are admitted free.
