VAIL, Colo.-
A 14-year-old snowmobiler died Sunday after hitting a tree, the Summit County coroner said.
The Highlands Ranch boy, whose name was not released, was on Vail Pass when the accident happened Sunday morning, Coroner Joanne Richardson said.
He died of a massive head injury, she said. The boy was wearing a snowboarding helmet with goggles.
The boy had been staying with his family in Vail for the weekend, Richardson said.
