COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.-
Counselors, psychologists, nurses and social workers were at an elementary school Monday where a fourth-grader collapsed during recess and later died.
Kristen Cornell, 9, collapsed Friday at Stetson Elementary School in Falcon School District 49 and was transported to Memorial Hospital, where she died, the El Paso County Coroner’s Office said. A cause of death was not immediately known.
Eric Paugh, the district’s learning services specialist, said the extra staff was at the school to provide counseling.
