Christie Brinkley had emergency back surgery Tuesday at a Manhattan hospital, her publicist said. Brinkley was injured during an Aspen ski trip in December “and (it) worsened in the past few days,” Brinkley’s publicist Marcia Horowitz said. Brinkley was scheduled to be released on Friday, Horowitz said. Brinkley missed her daughter Alexa Ray Joel’s performance Thursday at the Mercury Lounge in New York.
John Legend told Brit tabloid the Star that a musical collaboration with Paris Hilton would be “interesting.” Apparently unconcerned with ruining his credibility, the Grammy winner admitted: “I bought her single ‘Stars Are Blind.’ I thought it was a great song and should have done better even than it did.”
Oscar winner Cate Blanchett reported a $100,000 diamond-and-alligator handbag stolen from her hotel room the day before the Academy Awards. The New York Daily News reported the bag, made by Palm Beach, Fla., designer Lana Marks, suspiciously disappeared from Blanchett’s Four Seasons hotel suite. Giorgio Armani, designer of the actress’ Oscar dress, had pressured Blanchett to carry one of his bags. When the Marks bag was lost, the problem was “solved.”
