The winner: Don Johnson
This scene is most familiar to the Summit County Water Rescue Team. The marina serves as our Lake Dillon base of operations and training. I have appreciated the portrayal of the pavilion canopies as both sailboat sheets and the majestic 10 Mile Range and Gore Range to the West. We are an all-volunteer, nonprofit group of dive rescue specialists who operate the highest organized dive rescue team in North America.
Longtime sailor: Jack Cowger, Frisco
I’ve lived in Frisco since 1962. When the marina first opened I had a sailboat slip there. The cover of the shelter was designed to represent sails. The enclosed picture of me was taken at my 80th birthday party. I’m a WWII veteran, and the party also celebrated the restoration I did on my 1945 WWII jeep.
