Boulder – Two of three teenagers jailed in connection with the stabbing death of a 52-year-old woman made their first appearance in court here Friday.
One of the suspects in the death of Linda Damm is her daughter, another the girl’s boyfriend, and the third a friend of the other two.
Authorities have not named the suspects in the killing, but a posted court docket identified the trio as Tess Damm, Bryan Grove and Jared Smith.
Tess Damm, 15, and Smith, 16, were ordered held without bond by Magistrate T.J. Cole.
Grove, Tess Damm’s 17-year-old boyfriend, is represented by the public defender’s office. His appearance was waived by his attorney.
All three are scheduled to appear for formal filing of charges against them on Wednesday in District Court. Grove’s bond hearing is scheduled to be held as well.
Linda Damm’s body was found Wednesday after police received an anonymous tip that led them to her home, which she shared with Tess, in the 700 block of West Brome Place in Lafayette.
A former worker at Rocky Flats, Damm was stabbed “multiple” times in the neck, according to the Boulder County coroner’s office.
Lafayette investigators, aided by the Colorado Bureau of Investigation, continued to comb the crime scene Friday.
“It’s very early in the investigation,” said Carolyn French, a spokeswoman for the Boulder County district attorney’s office.
Fellow high-school students of Tess Damm and neighbors of Linda Damm reviewed printed copies of the teen suspect’s MySpace websites and identified them in photos on the copies.
Tess Damm’s MySpace website includes a blog posting dated Jan. 19 in which she complains about her home life, school and her relationship with her mother.
“Everyone knows the story of me and my mom … and everyone knows how much I’ve tried to fix it my whole life. And everyone knows how it never works,” the blog reads.
On the blog, Tess says she’s living “back home with Bryan.”
“I’m going to get through this life, regardless of whos (sic) behind me or not.”
A Feb. 11 posting on Grove’s site is titled “my baby …”
The passage reads, in part: “I miss you, i cant see you/touch you or feel you, i wish it wasnt so … my heart has already broken, cause i had to depart from you …”
Grove’s MySpace page has a Feb. 19 posting that includes the verse: “i did something that i shouldnt have/i did things that i shouldnt have … i hate myself for it …”
