GOING GREEN
If your idea of celebrating St. Patrick’s Day is ordering a pitcher of green beer at your local pub, we’d like to suggest something a wee bit more healthy. Head to LoDo on Sunday morning for the annual Runnin’ of the Green to benefit Volunteers of America. The Lucky 7K (4.35 miles) run and walk, and the Irish Punt 2-mile walk begin at 10:15 a.m. at McCormick’s Fish House & Bar, 1659 Wazee St. A block party after the race will feature Irish bagpipers, live music with the Potcheen Folk Band, an Irish rock group, Irish step dancers, corned beef and Killian’s Irish Red. Registration is $25 pre-race day by calling BKB Limited at 303- 694-2030, visiting bkbltd.com/calendar.htm or in person at Runner’s Roost stores, Running Wild and Boulder Running Co. Race day registration is $30, beginning at 7:30 a.m. (Don’t forget to “spring forward” an hour as Daylight Savings Time begins Sunday.)
