Fashion and friction merge Saturday at Copper Mountain as the Roxy Metal to Medal Rail Jam offers female skiers and snowboarders a chance to show off their rail sliding skills and sample the latest slopeside styles. The rail-slide contest near the base of the Main Vein Superpipe is free to all women seeking the camaraderie of all-female competition, tips from Roxy pros and a chance to win gear from Roxy and Quicksilver. Practice begins at 10 a.m. and competition begins at 11. Registration takes place at Mtn. Beach in the Village at Copper on the day of the event only, 9-10 a.m.
Everyone is welcome (boys, too) to the 3:30 p.m. afterparty at Burning Stones Plaza, where there will be an awards ceremony and a fashion show. Roxy pros Jessica Cummings, Erin Comstock and Lexi Waite will be on hand.
