Evergreen – Students were evacuated from Evergreen High School this morning for about an hour after a fire was discovered in the boys’ locker room.
The Evergreen Fire Department was called at about 8:20 a.m. on a report of smoke and found the fire, which was extinguished.
Classes have resumed although a portion of the building is closed off for an investigation into the fire, said Jacki Kelley, spokeswoman for the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office.
“It was human-caused but we don’t know if it was accidental or arson,” Kelley said. A determination could come later today.
