Colorado College’s Bill Sweatt was named Western Collegiate Hockey Association rookie of the week.

The freshman wing from Elburn, Ill., had four points in last weekend’s 3-0 victory and 5-5 overtime tie against the University of Denver. Sweatt had the game-winning goal in Game 1 and a career-high three assists in the series finale. – Mike Chambers

CU golfers finish fifth in Louisiana

The Colorado men’s golf team finished fifth at the Louisiana Classics on Tuesday in Lafayette, La. The Buffaloes posted an 865 total in three rounds of play and were led by Michael Baird, who finished eighth overall at 212.

The Colorado State men’s golf team shot a final-round 283 to finish with an 884 for ninth place at the Callaway Golf Invitational in Rancho Santa Fe, Calif. Dustin Morris finished with a 216 for 12th place overall as the Rams earned their eighth-straight top-10 team finish. Denver finished 10th, two shots behind Colorado State, at 886. The Pioneers’ Jeff Koprivetz finished sixth overall, shooting a 1-under-par 215.

Sharks exec Jamison headlines CSU event

Colorado State graduate Greg Jamison will be the main speaker at Colorado State’s Business Day today. The free event will be in the East Ballroom of the Lorry Student Center at 8:30 a.m. Jamison, the president and chief operating officer of the NHL’s San Jose Sharks, is scheduled to speak at 1:30 p.m.
