
Tori Spelling and her hubby, Dean McDermott, opened their Fallbrook, Calif., bed and breakfast Saturday. The three-room inn is set on a 9-acre estate named Chateau La Rue about 100 miles southeast of Los Angeles. The couple’s new reality show, “Tori & Dean: Inn Love” (March 20 premiere on Oxygen) will be based on the estate. “Dean was painting doors until 2 p.m.,” Spelling told People magazine. The B&B, named for Spelling’s pug Mimi La Rue, features sleek Jonathan Adler furniture, modern art and an entryway with two large fishtanks.
Denzel Washington is building a $40 million, 1-acre-sized mansion on his 6-acre property in Beverly Park, Calif., according to the New York Daily News. Neighbors in the gated community include Sylvester Stallone, Eddie Murphy and Samuel L. Jackson.
Mariah Carey’s Manhattan apartment featured on MTV’s “Cribs” is fit only for a diva. The pop singer told Hello! magazine she’s especially fond of the 12,000-square-foot triplex’s four closets. “There’s one for lingerie, a shoe closet I designed with architect Mario Buatta, and a pretty area for clothes with moving wardrobes and a bunch of shelves where I do fittings with stylists,” Carey said. “The closets are a big part of my life, it sounds obsessive – but they are pretty fabulous.”
Martha Stewart paid $16 million for a full-floor, 4,800-square-foot condo at 165 Charles St. in the West Village, the New York Post reported. Stewart’s 14th-floor space in the 16-story Richard Meier-designed building include five bedrooms, six baths, a 53-foot-wide great room and two terraces.
Larry King purchased a much-sought $12 million Tuscan-style estate in Beverly Hills, the Los Angeles Times reported. King and his wife, Shawn, were able to buy the property in just two days. The seven-bedroom, nine-bath home recently was renovated with roof tiling from a 200-year-old monastery.
