Golden – Gregory Ullrich, who turns 25 next month, was sentenced Monday to 20 years in prison with 60 months of mandatory parole. He could have received a 24-year sentence.

In January, Ullrich pleaded guilty to two counts of vehicular homicide in the deaths of the two 16-year-old Pomona High School students, passengers Chayce Miller and Alex Livesay.

Ullrich had a blood-alcohol level of .184 – more than twice the legal limit – when he cut in and out of traffic before slamming into a lightpole at between 57 and 65 mph at Wadsworth Boulevard and West 92th Avenue.

To say Im sorry isnt enough. It just doesnt cut it, Ullrich told the court. He then turned and addressed the Miller and Livesay families, saying his alcohol addiction and his bad judgment were responsible for the deaths.

I can never make up for that. Im so sorry, Ullrich said.
