Getting your player ready...

Mike Bell’s response to Travis Henry’s need to wear jersey No. 20 with the Broncos?

“He can have it,” Bell said Monday. “I don’t have an emotional attachment to that number. I know he does….I’ll talk to him and we’ll work it out. He can have it. It’ll be his.”

Henry, who signed with the Broncos last week to be their primary running back, said he would pay Bell, who wore No. 20 as a rookie last season, $10,000 to give up the jersey.

Henry has worn the number throughout his career. Monday, he had a medallion around his neck that featured the number.

Bell’s biggest issue is not financial reimbursement.

“I just want to get a good number,” said Bell, who said he may ask to wear No. 30, which his hero, Terrell Davis, wore while Davis starred for the Broncos. “That’s all I care about is getting a good number.”

Morgan returning

The Broncos re-signed unrestricted free agent Quincy Morgan, a wide receiver and kick returner. Morgan joined the team in September.

Last week, new Broncos special-teams coach Scott O’Brien said he liked Morgan’s ability to return kicks.

Morgan also will be given a chance to make an impact as a backup receiver.

Good for Graham

As he was introduced as a Bronco to the media Monday, tight end Daniel Graham said playing for his hometown team has been a long time coming.

Graham’s father, Tom, was a linebacker for the Broncos from 1972-74. Daniel Graham starred at Thomas Jefferson High School and was an All-American at the University of Colorado.

Graham watched Broncos training camps as a child.

“I remember catching balls from John Elway,” he said. “I’ve always been a big Broncos fan. To be able to wear the helmet is special.”

Graham left the New England Patriots after five seasons to sign with Denver. He received a five-year contract worth $30 million deal, with $15 million in guaranteed money.

Graham plans to work out at an area facility with new teammates during the offseason.

Defensive tackle update

The Broncos are visiting with free-agent defensive tackle Ian Scott today. Free-agent defensive tackle Alfonso Boone, Scott’s teammate with the Chicago Bears, visited with the Kansas City Chiefs on Monday.

The Broncos are expected to stay in touch with Boone.

Cardinals are coming

The Broncos are expected to announce they will host the Arizona Cardinals in the fourth preseason game this summer.

The first three games of the preseason schedule will be set by the NFL and announced this month.

Teams can arrange their final preseason game.
