Whitney Houston was spotted last weekend at Lawry’s The Prime Rib with Ray-J, brother of the singer-actress Brandy. Ray-J, an R&B singer, also is the one on the sex tape with ex-girlfriend Kim Kardashian and arrived at a pre-Oscars party with Lil’ Kim. Janetcharltonshollywood.com reported Houston and Ray enjoyed lobster and prime rib combo dinners.

She’s into walking her dogs, cooking and not partying with Paris Hilton. Sounds like a personals ad in the Village Voice. It’s actually Mischa Barton, the former star of “The O.C.,” denying she’s becoming the next Lindsay Lohan. “I know I look the part, and people used to come up to me in the street and talk to me as if I was a crazy party girl. But I don’t go out clubbing because that whole thing is too claustrophobic,” Barton told Weekend magazine. “As for shopping, I’d rather walk my dogs, Ziggy Stardust and Charlie Barton. I cook a mean lasagna, and some people say my potatoes au gratin are pretty on fire.” And she adds: “I guess some people are disappointed. I’m always being associated with other girls, but we’re not in the same crowd. I have only met Paris Hilton once and that was in passing.”

The Bloomfield, N.J., town council apparently got an offer it couldn’t refuse. The panel approved a request by producers of “The Sopranos” to film the HBO mob drama’s final scene at a local ice cream parlor. The Newark, N.J. Star-Ledeger reported the township originally approved the film permit on Feb. 26, but reversed itself on March 5, after objections from Mayor Raymond McCarthy and Councilman Bernard Hamilton. Hamilton said he’d received e-mails from residents complaining about the show’s depiction of Italian-Americans. The council reversed fields again, saying as long as Sopranos Production Inc. meets the requirements in Bloomfield’s code for filming crews, the township has no authority to deny the permit.
