The boy allegedly had sexual contact with the teacher, Carrie McCandless, while on an overnight school field trip near Estes Park on Oct. 28.
McCandless, 29, faces charges of sexual assault on a child by a person in a position of trust and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. The boy has since turned 18.
McCandlesss lawyer, M. Trent Trani, said he would reserve comment until after he has seen the Today segment.
