Ski resort operator Vail Resorts Inc.
said Monday that its fiscal second-quarter profit increased 23
percent, driven by higher sales in its real estate segment and
strong season pass sales at its resorts.
Net income climbed to $53 million, or $1.35 per share, for the
three months ended Jan. 31 from $43 million, or $1.12 per share, in
the previous year.
Quarterly revenue rose to $361 million, up 25 percent from $288
million a year ago.
Mountain revenue grew to $272 million from $246.2 million, while
real estate revenue soared to $56.2 million from $9.7 million.
Analysts had forecast sales of $317.7 million.
