Turkey day
To help prepare for the April 14 opening of turkey season, the Colorado Springs office of the Colorado Division of Wildlife will host a seminar providing an overview of hunting in Colorado. The March 31 class, under the direction of Steve Lucero and Mark Elkins, is geared to the first-time hunter. The 9 a.m.-3 p.m. event at the 4255 Sinton Road location is free, but space is limited to 50. To register, 719-227-5200.
Tournament for buddies
Outdoor Buddies, a nonprofit organization that assists mobility-disabled individuals and at-risk youth, will host April fly-fishing and golf tournaments on consecutive Saturdays. The angling event at Maria Lake near Walsenburg will be April 21, and a golf tournament at the Red Hawk Ridge course near Castle Rock will be April 28. For entry information, phone 303-688-0443.
