Three men were seriously injured today when a scaffold they were working on tipped over at a high-rise building in Denver’s Cheesman Park.

The men had been working on repairing the facing of the Huntington House condominiums in the 1100 block of Race Street for several months, neighbors said, and were on the third floor of the building at the time of the accident shortly before 11 a.m.

Neighbor Bob Myre said it appeared at least one of the workers was bleeding from the head before he was placed on a backboard and taken to a hospital.

Denver Fire Lt. Phil Champagne called the men’s injuries serious, but said he didn’t believe them to be life-threatening.

An investigation into how the scaffolding failed is underway.
