America’s Cup of Polo ties in with Jamestown’s 400th anniversary
On May 12, the “Super Bowl” of polo will feature a face-off between the United States and the United Kingdom as the America’s Cup of Polo takes place at Historic Morven Park in Leesburg, a 20-minute drive from Washington, D.C. Rock band Journey will sing the national anthems of both countries, and a commemorative ceremony for the 1607 journey to Jamestown will be held. “Barcelona and Modernity” explores art from Gaudí to Dalí; features 300 works
Can’t get to Barcelona anytime soon? Check out the art in the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s exhibit “Barcelona and Modernity: Gaudí to Dalí,” which explores the Spanish city’s paintings, sculptures, furniture, architectural models, drawings and prints from 1888 to 1939.
