CHEYENNE, Wyo.-
Police in Fort Collins, Colo., and Laramie are investigating whether University of Wyoming men’s basketball players were involved in the theft of $700 from a Colorado State University locker room last month.
UW police Lt. Larry Gore said CSU police asked his department to help with the investigation a couple of days after UW’s Feb. 24 game at CSU.
“We are assisting CSU police because the crime happened in their jurisdiction,” Gore said. “We are conducting interviews for CSU with UW players and staff that would have had access to that room.
“We don’t have any suspects at this time. Players and coaches are being investigated right now,” Gore said.
Jackie Swaro, spokeswoman for the CSU police department, said she couldn’t talk about the ongoing investigation, but that more information would be released soon.
UW athletics spokesman Tim Harkins said he knew nothing about the investigation and couldn’t comment.
