MISSOULA, Mont.-

Former University of Colorado wide receiver Cedric Cormier has been named wide receivers coach at the University of Montana, coach Bobby Hauck said this week.

Cormier, a native of Houston, Texas, is already coaching at spring drills.

Cormier, 27, has been an assistant coach at Baytown High School in Baytown, Texas, working with the wide receivers and serving as the special teams coordinator for the past two seasons. He was the wide receivers coach at Channelview (Texas) High School during the 2004 season.

“Cedric, first of all, is a real good person, and he’ll be a good role model for the players on our football team,” Hauck said. “He was an extremely gifted and hardworking player when he played for us at Colorado, and we are fortunate to have him on our staff.”

Hauck was an assistant coach at Colorado before taking over as Montana’s head coach in 2003.

Cormier was a two-year starter at wide receiver and kickoff returner at Colorado. The Buffaloes won the Big 12 championship in 2001.

Hauck also said he recently made a couple of assignment changes within his coaching staff.

Fourth-year assistant coach Tim Hauck will now work with the entire secondary. In past seasons Tim had worked exclusively with the safeties. Third-year associate head coach Mike Hudson has switched from working with the cornerbacks to running backs.
