The Colorado Mammoth of the National Lacrosse League erased a five-goal deficit en route to a 13-12 overtime victory over the host Toronto Rock at the Air Canada Center on Saturday.
The Mammoth (10-1) moved atop the NLL and clinched a West Division playoff berth just one game after the all-star break.
After the Mammoth rallied from five goals down, the Rock (4-7) twice regained the lead. But Colorado’s Dan Carey scored his first goal of the game with 1:49 left in regulation to tie the game at 12-12. Carey then tallied the game-winner 4:44 into overtime to give the Mammoth its sixth straight win.
Brian Langtry led the Mammoth with a game-high five goals and Gavin Prout had three goals and four assists. Former University of Denver standout Scott Davidson made his NLL debut, winning 19-of-29 faceoffs for the Mammoth.
Eagles rally for CHL road win
Seth Leonard scored an unassisted game-winner midway through the third period and the Colorado Eagles of the Central Hockey League rallied for a 2-1 victory over the host Youngstown Steelhounds at the Chevrolet Centre in Youngstown, Ohio.
The Odessa Jackalopes scored four unanswered goals for a 4-1 win over the Rocky Mountain Rage in Broomfield.
