
Jonathan Ida is a senior at Thornton High School.
He is the student body president and has been in Student Congress since freshman year. He is a member of the school’s main decision-making body, the Thornton Leadership Council.
Jonathan is president of the school’s Key Club. The Rocky Mountain District of Key Club is working on a project that has provided a new school for a village in Vietnam.
He is a group leader for the University of Denver’s World Affairs Challenge, a competition among Colorado schools focusing on international issues and current events.
Jonathan volunteered at Chibi no Gakko, a Japanese-American heritage school. He is co-president of the Young Buddhist Association, the Denver Buddhist Temple’s youth group.
Jonathan plays golf on the Front Range League and has lettered for four years in varsity golf.
His weighted grade-point average is 4.702. Jonathan plans to pursue a career in chemical engineering.
