DENVER-
A mistrial was declared Monday in the case of a man accused of sexually assaulting a woman in a medical complex.
After two days of deliberations, jurors told Denver District Court Judge Morris Hoffman that they were deadlocked in the trial of Luther Hill.
Lynn Kimbrough, spokeswoman for the Denver district attorney, said Hoffman scheduled a hearing April 9 on the next step in the case. She said the DA will request a new trial.
Kimbrough said 11 jurors voted for conviction and one for acquittal.
A 21-year-old woman testified last week that Hill was the man who assaulted her in a public restroom in a medial complex just east of downtown Denver August. But Hill’s attorney, Kate Dulitzky, said Hill was with his wife at his mother’s house at the time of the attack.
