A woman who crashed head-on into another car on U.S. Hwy. 36 while driving on the wrong side of the road last week had a blood-alcohol level that was nearly twice the legal limit, authorities say.
Rachel Lucille Wilson, 21, remains in a hospital where she is recovering from injuries caused by the March 16 accident on the Boulder Turnpike near Wadsworth Boulevard, said Trevor Materasso spokesman for the Westminster Police Department.
Charges are pending, he said.
The 4:37 a.m. accident killed Andrew Peter Clausen, 27, who was a passenger in the 1997 Honda Civic that Wilson was driving, Materasso said.
Wilson was westbound in the eastbound lane of Highway 36 when her car struck a eastbound Jeep driven by Ronald Hamilton, 49. Hamilton, who was wearing a seat belt, was treated for less serious injuries.
