Lincoln Log roundup

PlatteForum, 1610 Little Raven St., Denver, 303-893-0791

Here in the land where the mountain cabin is king, there’s sure to be a lot of grown-up kids still hanging on to their old Lincoln Logs. Why not dig them out for a huge art project at Platteforum? Artist Michael Ensminger is creating an installation that will encompass the community-friendly gallery’s entire front space. Donate logs by April 9 and you can take your friends to see them in action when the exhibition opens May 17. Check out Ensminger’s work at platteforum.org.

BADA-BING!

Petey’s Bing Energy Drink

$2.50. King Soopers and other Denver-area retailers and restaurants.

There aren’t many chances to honor Colorado’s famed cherry crop and get a little energy boost too. But Denver-based Inspiration Beverage Co. has popped up with Bing, a 40-calorie cherry-juice drink jacked up with taurine, caffeine, ginkgo biloba, ginseng, guarana, acai berry and flax seed to get you going. Drink it straight out of the can, over ice, or follow Petey’s mixology guide and shake yourself up with the “Bada Bing,” a shot of Tuaca and a couple of shots of Bing, on the rocks.

TELL ME AGAIN?

Children’s Family Story Project

childrensfsp.org or 303-377-0908

There’s a month left to get your fourth-, fifth- or sixth-grader to collect a family history from a grandparent or older relative, write a 500- to 1,000-word story and enter it in the Children’s Family Story Project. The best tales will be published in a book by organizers Irv Green and Andrea Gross. And as anyone who has lost a relative before collecting their story knows, time’s a wastin’.
