Donations of New Socks Needed

With partners Volunteers of America and Inner City Health, the Denver Rescue Mission will host over 500 homeless men, women, and children at the Denver Rescue Mission’s Easter Celebration on Friday, April 6th at the Lawrence Street Shelter, 1130 Park Avenue West. This year, the homeless will receive more than just a hot meal; they will be receive a foot washing by volunteers, a foot exam by volunteer medical professionals, and a new pair of socks and shoes. Donations of over 500 pairs new socks are greatly needed so that everyone who attends the Easter Celebration Banquet will leave with a great gift of hope, which is what Easter is all about. Please drop off socks at the Denver Rescue Mission’s Lawrence Street Shelter.
The 58th annual Sunrise Easter Service, 6 a.m. at Red Rocks Amphitheater in Red Rocks Park near Morrison. Gates open at 4:30 a.m. No charge for parking or admission. Vendors will sell coffee and other refreshments before the service.
Bethany Lutheran Church, 4500 E. Hampden Ave., is having services at 6, 7:30, 9 and 10:30 a.m.
The Basilica of the Immaculate Conception, 1530 Logan St., 6:30, 8:30 and 10:30 a.m. and at 12:30 and 6:30 p.m.
Calvary Baptist Church, 6500 E. Girard Ave., sunrise service at 6:30 a.m. at Hobie Hill in Cherry Creek State Park, 4201 S. Parker Road, Aurora; 10 a.m. service in the church sanctuary.
Colorado Community Church, 9 a.m. in English and 11 a.m. in English and Spanish, at the William Roberts Elementary School, 2100 Akron Way, in Stapleton.
Cherry Hills Community Church,10 a.m. service at Coors Amphitheater, 6350 Greenwood Plaza Blvd.. Doors open at 9 a.m. Deaf and hard-of-hearing individuals and their families are invited to sit in a designated section at the front of the amphitheater, stage right, to see the message in sign language. Canned food will be collected for COMPA Food Bank Ministry.
Church in the City, 1530 Josephine Street, sunrise service, 6 a.m., followed by a free breakfast. Other services, 9 and 11 a.m.; Spanish-language service at 2 p.m.

Heritage Christian Center, 9495 E. Florida Ave., 8, 9:30 and 11:15 a.m.
Macedonia Baptist Church, 3240 Adams St., sunrise service at 6 a.m., breakfast at 8 a.m., Sunday school presentation at 9 a.m. and a service at 10:30 a.m.
Montview Boulevard Presbyterian Church, 1980 Dahlia St., 9 and 11 a.m.
New Covenant Christian Church, 825 Ivanhoe St., sunrise service at 6 a.m., breakfast at 7 a.m., a service at 8 a.m., breakfast continuing at 9 a.m. and an 11 a.m. service.
