Mario Lopez is working with a national program called Smart Spot Dance! that promotes the health benefits of dancing. The former “Dancing With the Stars” runner-up was in New York recently launching the program at a local YMCA with Broadway star LaChanze. “They’re specifically targeting the Latino community; obesity is prevalent there,” Lopez told Marc Malkin of E! Online. “And I can relate to that with having some chubby family members myself.” Dancing remains a part of his fitness regimen, but Lopez added, “I still love to box and go running. I just make sure to stay active doing all sorts of different stuff.”
Rachel Weisz has joined the parade of actresses urging Hollywood stars not to be pressured to lose weight. “If you diet away your curves, you are dieting away your femininity,” the Oscar-winning actress was quoted by bangshowbuzz.com. “I enjoy dressing up, but you can do that without flagellating your body.”
Hilary Duff admitted she lost a lot of weight several years ago because she felt pressured. “I’ve felt that pressure, like everyone else in my position,” she told Britain’s Mail on Sunday. “When a newspaper comes out that says ‘Duff Puff – she must have gained 15 pounds’ or something like that, how would any normal person react?”
Jeremy Piven doesn’t want to be “Puffy Piven” either. The “Entourage” co-star has been spending several days a week at Sebastien’s Pilates Plus, a private gym in Los Angeles owned by celebrity trainer Sebastien Lagree, E! Online reports. A Piven pal reveals of his workout regimen: “There’s lots of stretching, abs and core training.” Lagree’s clients include Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Sheryl Crow and Nicole Kidman.
