The memory of former Vail team rider Josh Malay will be kept alive Thursday when Vail Mountain hosts the fourth annual Malay Day in the Fly Zone Terrain Park on Golden Peak. Malay lost his life while snowboarding in Spain, but friends remain inspired to “live and love life” in his memory. Malay Day kicks off with a pipe jam at 11 a.m., followed by a rail jam at 12:30 p.m. and a jump jam at 1:30 p.m. A best overall male and female “Destroyer” will be announced at the end of the day, and each will receive a 2007-08 Vail season pass. Malay Day is open to all ages, genders and disciplines. Participants must register at the Golden Peak Lodge from 9-10 a.m. Thursday for $15 (plus a special $45 lift ticket for the day).
