DENVER-

Former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani will attend a fundraiser at the home of former Denver Nuggets general manager Kiki Vandeweghe this month as he considers a run for the White House.

Christine Walton, a fundraiser for the Republican’s presidential exploratory committee, confirmed the April 16 event on Wednesday.

The host committee for the event includes former Denver Broncos quarterback John Elway, former Sen. Ben Nighthorse Campbell, former Republican gubernatorial hopeful Marc Holtzman and House Minority Leader Mike May, according to the invitation.

May said he favors Giuliani right now but added that the Republican presidential field for 2008 isn’t set yet.

“Certainly with the current choices, I’m leaning that way,” May said.

Tickets range from $1,000 for admission to the reception to $4,600 for a seat at a table with a photo opportunity.

Giuliani surged ahead of Arizona Sen. John McCain in GOP polling several weeks ago.

However, former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney is tops in fundraiser among the GOP hopefuls with $23 million. Giuliani has raised $15 million, including $10 million raised in March alone.

A spokeswoman for Giuliani did not immediately return a call.
