A passenger died and a driver was injured early today when a Chevrolet Blazer crashed into the back of a parked truck in Aurora, police said.

The accident happened at about 2:18 a.m. near East Montview Boulevard and Joliet Street.

According to police, the Blazer was eastbound on Montview when it struck the back of an unoccupied yellow Penske truck. The passenger side of the Blazer took the brunt of the collision.

The unidentified passenger in the Blazer died at the scene. The driver, who was not identified, was taken to a local hospital to be treated for “minor” injuries, police said.

The crash is under investigation, police said.
