Anheuser-Busch Spring Heat Spiced Wheat, $6.99 a six-pack

Anheuser-Busch, giant among giants, continues to explore the byways of beer.

The latest is Spring Heat Spiced Wheat, a Belgian-style wheat ale. Actually, it’s back from its debut last year.

Brewed at A-B’s Fort Collins facility, Spring Heat is a pale, unfiltered wit (wheat) beer laced with orange, lemon and lime peel, although the citrus stays well behind the wheat. It contains 5.2 percent alcohol (by volume).

Fans of traditional wheat beers will find this one just a bit thin on flavor.

The company’s spring beer, its third seasonal, is expected to be available through May.
