Two Southern Ute tribe members from Ignacio have been indicted for involuntary manslaughter in separate deaths on the reservation.
A federal grand jury in Denver indicted Vern Andrew Carel for allegedly killing Vernest Carel on November 20th by kneeing him in the back. The blow caused internal injuries.
Allen Herrera Junior is accused of the March 29th death of Kesmond Morgan.
No further details of the deaths were available.
Involuntary manslaughter, which means the death was unintentional, carries a maximum sentence of six years in prison and a 250,000 dollar fine.
