HUDSON, Colo.-

Laura Moreland thinks Hudson is a cute little town.

She’s not sure it will stay that way if a 12-hundred-50 bed women’s prison moves into town.

The town Board of Trustees has approved a 340 acre annexation the developer needs to build the prison.

The 400 or so registered voters in the town will decide on May 18th whether to okay the annexation.

Town Administrator Joe Racine says building the prison will make it easier to attract new businesses because the prison developer will have to acquire more water, some of which the town can use.
