Bob Weiner loves to run. And the chief deputy in the Jefferson County district attorney’s office probably loves the idea of keeping his Evergreen residence just as much.

“If I don’t run, my wife is ready to kick me out of the house,” Weiner said. “It’s just a big stress relief for me. And I just love running.”

Thus, a match made in heaven – sometimes. Monday’s conditions at the Boston Marathon were anything but divine.

“The wind was just whipping in your face. It was stopping people in their tracks,” Weiner said.

But Weiner, who turned 42 on Saturday, overcame the blustery conditions and finished second in the masters division in 2 hours, 31 minutes, 20 seconds. The winner, Russian Oleg Strijakov, finished in 2:28:55. It was Weiner’s fourth marathon.
