The Colorado Department of Transportation says McClure Pass may be closed at least a week.
The pass and Highway 133 south of it were closed by a rockslide that officials say was the equivalent of 100 super-duty dump truck loads of rock and dirt.
C-DOT spokeswoman Nancy Shanks said the on-again, off-again warm and cold weather probably caused the rock slide two days ago.
Crew are working with contractors to blast the road clear.
