No. 9 among sustainable cities
Denver ranks ninth on the list of the 50 largest sustainable U.S. cities, according to a new book, “How Green Is Your City? The SustainLane US City Rankings” (New Society Publishers, $22.95).
The cities were measured on the basis of indicators such as whether public transit, renewable energy, local food and development approaches are more likely to limit or intensify the negative economic and environmental impacts of fossil-fuel dependence.
The top-ranked city is Portland, Ore.; the lowest is Columbus, Ohio.

Top places to live? Try these 3
Estes Park, Fort Collins and Highlands Ranch made Relocate-America.com’s 10th annual list of the top 100 places to live. To make the list, a community must be nominated by someone familiar with its benefits. Relocate-America’s editorial team reviews the nominations in categories that include education, crime, employment and housing data for the past year.
