A fireball that dozens of Front Range residents spotted was part of a meteor shower, according to Capt. Tim Lundberg of North American Aerospace Defense Command.
The meteor appeared around 11:08 p.m. Friday. Lundberg told KUSA-TV in Denver that it was centered over the Air Force Academy, near Colorado Springs.

Gary Warner, who lives in southwest suburban Denver, said the fireball appeared bright green and was headed for the mountains. Other residents reported red and green lights streaking across the sky.
KCNC-TV in Denver reported that researchers at the Denver Museum Of Nature and Science planned to review videotapes Monday to confirm it was a meteor shower.
