Dominic Breazeale was among the highlights of Northern Colorado’s spring football scrimmage Saturday in Greeley. The senior-to-be quarterback led an eight-play, 65-yard drive for a touchdown on the offense’s first series.
Breazeale, who passed for 1,018 yards last season, completed each of his four passes on the opening series. Jeff Vaden’s 3-yard touchdown run completed the drive.
The second series featured a 56-yard touchdown run by Chad Cary on the second play. Running back Andy Muns, a former Douglas County star, also scored during the scrimmage.
Mike Vlahogeorge, a transfer from Indiana playing in relief of Breazeale, threw a touchdown pass to Clint Wright, a 6-foot-5, 250-pound tight end from Northridge High School. Joe Kenney, a 6-1, 210-pound linebacker from Colorado Springs Christian, had an interception.
The Bears are coming off a 1-10 season.
