EAGLE, Colo.-
A snowboarder who collided with an 8-year-old girl on Vail Mountain faces up to six months in jail and a $750 fine after pleading guilty to harassment.
Christopher Dunsmore pleaded guilty Wednesday to the charge in exchange for other charges being dropped, said Karen Romeo, assistant district attorney for Eagle County.
He was scheduled to be sentenced July 16.
Last December, Dunsmore was accused of drunken skiing and leaving an accident scene, both petty violations of the state’s Skier Safety Act, after the collision. The girl suffered bruises and a split lip.
Sheriff’s officials found Dunsmore later at a bar near the bottom of the mountain and said he allegedly admitted drinking alcohol before the accident.
The girl’s father, Kiril Petrovski of Edwards, was ticketed for third-degree assault after he allegedly punched Dunsmore in the face. Dunsmore also received a summons on the same charge.
