Full Sail LTD 02, $6.99 a six-pack
Full Sail Brewing is 20 years old, making it one of the oldest microbrewers in the country.
To celebrate, the Oregon brewery is out with its LTD 02, a helles-style light-bodied lager arriving just in time for summer consumption. It contains 6.4 percent alcohol (by volume).
A deep reddish-gold, LTD 02 is a follow-up to Full Sail’s LTD 01, which won a gold medal at the World Beer Championships.
Despite its deep color, LTD is an easy- drinking beer with a soft overtone of malt, a good first step away from fizzy, mass-produced lagers.
An aside: LTD stands for “Limited Edition” and for “Live the Dream,” the founders’ motto. It’s part of Full Sail’s ongoing series of reworked imported beer styles.
